The Government of Saskatchewan announced on April 24 that it will be restoring funding for Saskatchewan libraries back to the 2016-17 funding levels to ensure that regional and municipal libraries and the interlibrary loan services remain operational

Many projects were held in the last fiscal year by members of the Sturgis branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, said Rob Wilcott, president, in his address at the Sturgis banquet and awards event on April 29.

In February, the Sturgis Station House Museum, which had opened its doors to the new addition of the Brookview School building last August, has had the building designated as Municipal Heritage Property, said Myrtle Boychuk, museum representative.

The Town of Preeceville Canada 150 committee has announced a tentative schedule for events during the Canada 150 celebrations. The events are planned for August 4 to 6, said Agnes Murrin, one of the organizers.

The Studio Dance One club members presented its annual spring recital to the theme, 鈥淗ollywood Walk of Fame鈥� at the Sturgis Composite High School on April 23.

The Gateway Co-op held its annual information meetings in Preeceville at the Ukrainian Catholic Hall on April 19 and in Canora at the Rainbow Hall on April 18. The supper portion in Preeceville was catered by the Preeceville Ukrainian Catholic women.
