Hollywood stars shine brightly at annual dance recital held in Sturgis

The Studio Dance One club members presented its annual spring recital to the theme, “Hollywood Walk of Fame” at the Sturgis Composite High School on April 23.

            Morgan Jack and Natasha and Megan Fey were dance instructors responsible for teaching club members.

Sheila Klebeck was the mistress of ceremonies for the afternoon.

            Addison Danielson, Emerson Strykowski, Alexis Firman and Maggie Bartel kicked off the recital with a tap performance to Life is a Highway.

Hannah Gerbrandt, Olivia Chornomitz and Kirsten Murray performed a jazz routine to Earned it.

Chloe Bourassa, Macey Mitchell and Mackenna Firman performed a jazz performance to Shut Up and Dance.

Charlotte Folk, Gracelynn Peters and Kaleigh Meberg performed a creative movement toDaisy.

Addison Danielson, Emerson Strykowski, Hannah Gerbrandt and Paje Reynolds performed a ballet dance to Shine.

Jenna Anaka, Maggie Bartel and Saphira Anaka performed a ballet to Princess Tea Party.

Autumn Rose and Chloe Bourassa performed a hip hop duet to This is How We Do.

Chloe Chornomitz, Katryna Englot, Kiera Balyski and Olivia Chornomitz performed a tap dance to Staying Alive.

Hannah Gerbrandt performed a lyrical solo.

Ally Apland, Bryanna Hartl, Isabelle Payette Jenna Anaka, Kacey Heskin, Karley Buchinski and Saphira Anaka performed tap performance to Shower.

Emma-Rae Ekstron, the guest dancer, performed an acrobatic solo.

Chloe Chornomitz, Katryna Englot, Kiera Balyski and Mia Mitchell performed a jazz performance to Me Too.

Hannah Gerbrandt and Emerson Strykowski performed a hip hop duet.

Brooklyn Reber, Bryanna Hartl, Kacey Heskin and Maggie Bartel performed a jazz performance to My House.

Addison Danielson, Alexis Firman, Asia Kilborn, Emerson Strykowski and Haley Payette performed a jazz performance to Broken Hearted.

Hannah Gerbrandt, Megan Fey, Morgan Jack and Natasha Fey performed teacher dance.

All dancers participated in the grand finale dance.

Awards were presented at the conclusion of the recital.

Kirsten Murray and Olivia Chornomitz each received the Triple A Award “for displaying an awesome attitude.”

Alexis Firman, Emerson Strykowski and Mia Mitchell each received the Most Dedicated award.

Chloe Chornomitz, Addison Danielson and Maggie Bartel each received the Most Improved award.

Hannah Gerbrandt received the Bonnie Jakubowski Award for most promising all around dancer who has shown growth, positively and dedication to dance.

Macey Mitchell received the award for having had the best stage presence.
