A local woman is pleased that she has advanced to the next round in the Inked Magazine Cover Girl contest, and she is looking for the public’s support. Trish Boulding finished in the top 10 in the most recent round of voting that ended Thursday.

Lacie-Paige Carleton had a great time when she entered the Inked Magazine Cover Girl contest last year, so she decided to enter it again. Carleton advanced to the wildcard round of last year’s competition.

From when he was a little boy, Robert McArthur of the White Bear First Nation has been drawn to the cultural side of his family’s heritage and having always been told where he comes from, he has had his feet grounded in identity.

Former Estevan resident Michael Dawson has received a $3,000 Independent Artists grant from SK Arts to write and arrange songs for a new album.

A talented young artist from Estevan is among those whose artwork is currently on display at the University of Regina (U of R). Zack Jocelyn is part of the introspective, virtual exhibition named Self, which opened Jan.

This year the Assiniboia and District Arts Council will be hosting the Pop up Gallery online. The artwork will be posted on their website, Facebook and Instagram platforms and will have the option to purchase through a Shop Now link on the website.

The Souris Valley Museum has started a new program called Little Historians. On Saturdays, they invite families with children of 2-4 years old to come to the museum and learn different aspects of local history.

The Northwest Mounted Police (NWMP) Museum, the heritage building located on Fourth Street by the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM), needs help. The NWMP museum bears a collection of artifacts and preserves the history of the region.

An Estevan woman has enjoyed excellent support in her first foray into the Inked Magazine Cover Girl contest. Kyra Gessner currently sits second in her group, as of Tuesday evening. The deadline to vote for her in this round is 10 p.m.

Two new exhibitions opened at the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum (EAGM) on Friday. These exhibitions featuring on Saskatchewan and one Ontario artists will run from Jan. 29 – April 4.
