Bev King has been serving the people of Wawota and area for the last 44 years. She opened the local Robinson’s Store in 1975, in the building that formerly housed Chouquette’s Hardware. They relocated into a brand-new building next door.

Bright Eyes Dog Rescue has some close ties to the Carlyle area. Started in 2009 by Jamie Parker and Karen Filleul, the rescue became a registered charity in 2010, and they haven’t looked back.

Wednesday, Aug. 21 dawned bright and sunny for the Seniors golf tournament and 22 teams turned out for the event, held at the Carlyle Golf Course. With 11 women ad 33 men competing for top spot, the greens saw a lot of action.

Angels of Hope Animal Rescue is small and mighty, but President Sherrie Flick says their group is tired. With only herself, her sister Wanda Soloshy of Kipling, Sheryl Stomp and Barb Mountain, both of Esterhazy, they cover a huge area.
