Jerri Laird is dedicated to her craft. The former Fine Arts teacher lives in Wawota and drives to Hamiota to attend the Art Club every week. Although acrylic is her comfort zone, she is working on mastering watercolour.

Elaine Rawlings of Hamiota, MB had never held a paintbrush, but in 1981 she was encouraged to join the Hamiota Art Club. She decided to take lessons in watercolour and discovered a natural talent.

Cheryl MacDonald has been working in watercolour and with art pens for 21 years, beginning with pencil sketches and painting during high school, taking a break to raise a family and teach.

Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22 will mark the 33rd Annual Homespun Craft Show & Sale.

On Thursday, Sept 5 the students of Arcola School, parents and the community came out to enjoy a barbecued hotdog or hamburger, juice and a doughnut.

I imagine by now some of you have missed the weekly reports. Although I generally enjoy doing them, I enjoy time off more. • We did not get any misdialed 911 calls over this long reporting period.
