Town Council met on Wednesday Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. Council has sold two more lots, one in a commercial subdivision and one in a residential subdivision. The mayor, Don Shirley, reported on the 2011 Saskatchewan health statistics.

A time of great optimism

Sometimes there is a feeling we live in a vacuum in this world, and being on the Canadian Prairies, and in particular Saskatchewan, right now is one of those times.

6 & unders play in first tournament

The Carlyle 6 & under hockey team coached by Ryan Irwin and Jeff Humphries had their first tournament of the season on Saturday January 14, 2012 at Redvers. Their first game was against Redvers B and their second game was against Moosomin.

Bullying comes in various forms, such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, or coercion. Bullying can come from a single individual, or a group of people. Bullying can occur at school, work, home, or in public places.

Novice Cougars take to the road

Starting our weekend off with a Friday the 13th match up, the Cougars are heading to the Kipling rink to take on the Royals. The team skated hard and made some great plays but could not come away with a win.

Record-Breaking Saskatchewan weather

Saskatchewan has recently experienced the second warmest December on record, the warmest Dec. having occurred in 1997. Temperatures this past December averaged about six degrees below Celsius, whereas the 1997 record seen an average temperature of 5.
