Starting our weekend off with a Friday the 13th match up, the Cougars are heading to the Kipling rink to take on the Royals. The team skated hard and made some great plays but could not come away with a win. They packed their bags and headed home to rest up for their home game the next morning. They would play host to Midale Storms, it was a bit of an easier game then their Friday one. Saying that, it was nice to see them trying out different plays and really working on their passing game. Sunday they would pack their gear once again and head off to Wawota, they've played them before so we were anxious to see how this game would play out. The Cougars came out strong and played even with the Flyers for the 1st period, and stayed with them for most of the 2nd, they skated hard, they passed, they took shots, they did everything they could but it was not enough to get a win in their barn. The score did not reflect the effort of every player out there. It was an exciting game to watch and all players should be proud of how they played. Next weekend is a bit slower for them, we have our Carlyle Minor Hockey days so the kids will only have one game @ 11, so come on out and cheer them on, and support Minor Hockey.
