The CanElson Estevan Bruins, a team within the SJHL, were recently in Carlyle spending two days in town, Dec. 17 and Dec. 18. On their trip they visited schools in both Carlyle and Manor.

Two local athletes have been chosen to play on the Under 14 Saskatchewan Selects football team. Andrew Kehler (13) and Lane Newell (12) played a regular season with the Estevan Chargers. Their second year of play, both youth love the game immensely.

STARS have been bright in the Saskatchewan skies this year. The Shock, Trauma Air Rescue Society arrived in Saskatchewan earlier this year, and have been lighting up the skies from day one.

RCMP Report

Between Dec. 10 and 13 the RCMP responded to 25 calls. In the morning of Dec. 10 RCMP received a complaint of the theft of a truck in Carlyle. They currently are pursuing leads and the matter remains under investigation.

G.F. Kells holds food drive

Between Dec. 3 and Dec. 14 students at G.F. Kells competed in a food drive. For the last 10 years they have held the drive before a Mosaic meal where each grade is assigned a country and the school eats a number of items from around the world.

Strong showing for 8 & under Cougars

The past week the Novice team travelled to Redvers on Thursday, Dec 13th and had Kipling visit on Saturday, Dec 15th. The team has been progressing well, improving their skills and teamwork.
