Culture is important throughout the region and on April 12 the Rivers West District for Sport, Culture and Recreation held a gathering in St. Walburg to offer community groups a chance to meet and learn more about several provincial organizations.

Perusing the new and improved North Battleford Galleries newsletter, I came upon the open invitation to attend Keith Bartlett's Drum Circle, held every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in his music studio in the Don Ross Centre.

Easter service and family gatherings

It's very pleasant to hear robins singing at dusk. We have not seen as many birds this spring as usual and wonder if the Gulf of Mexico oil spill last fall has anything to do with the absence of birds this spring.

Piano teacher Kathy Franks held her annual year-end recital last week. She aims to share a love of music as well as technique with her students.

Culture representatives

Rivers West, a sports, culture and recreation organization formerly known as River Junction Recreation, sponsored a cultural program meeting at St. Walburg on April 12. In attendance representing Maidstone Museum were Mae Hinde and Dorothy Schwartz.

Maidstone Museum's silent auction a success

The Maidstone Museum members would like to thank everyone who donated articles and all those who worked at the Silent Auction. This annual event is held in conjunction with the Trade Fair, this year held April 2 and 3 in the Maidstone Arena.
