A trial for an Alberta man charged with drug trafficking offences by the Battlefords RCMP didn’t proceed today after he changed how he wants to be tried.

On Sunday, July 4, 2021, around 11:20 p.m., a woman was found unresponsive while being held at the Sandy Bay RCMP Detachment. The woman had been taken into custody earlier that evening at approximately 8:20 p.m.

From the province: The number of confirmed cases of the Delta variant has increased significantly in the last two weeks. The Delta variant is assumed to be 1.5 times more transmissible and twice as virulent as the Alpha variant.

One new death is being reported Tuesday in the North West in the provincial government’s COVID-19 report. The death was of a person in the 30-39 age group from the North West zone.

Vaccines Reported An additional 8,348 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,233,534. Over half a million Saskatchewan residents are now fully vaccinated.

Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation has announced it received a major donation recently North Battleford Lions Club. The donation is $10,000 towards BUH Foundation’s capital campaign, “Advanced O.R.

Maidstone’s July 1 celebrations began at 10 a.m. on a hot, sunny day, with a parade organized by parade marshal Bill Foster, a role he has fulfilled for 21 years. Mounted RCMP members dressed in red serge led the parade, followed by numerous floats.

From the RCMP: On July 5, 2021 at approximately 8:05 a.m., Carlyle RCMP officers responded to a head-on collision on Highway #13, approximately one kilometre east of Manor, SK. Investigation determined that a SUV and a semi tractor-trailer collided.
