Winter is already half over

We are now well into a new year and getting everything back to normal. Days are getting longer, which is welcome and, since we are halfway through winter, spring feels not too far away. The first RM of Glenside Recreation Board meeting was held Jan.

Facility a legacy for the future

Dear Editor I support the concept of the multiplex and am pleased construction has begun. In a perfect world, many more sources would have financially contributed and we may not have had to borrow as much, or work so diligently at fundraising.

Auxiliary notes

The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies' Auxiliary No. 142, assisted by the men, held a cribbage and kaiser tournament Jan. 22. Although there weren't many players, an enjoyable afternoon was shared. Beef on a bun was available and was very good.

Talking their way into the medals

A North Battleford Comprehensive High School debate team participated in a debate at Walter Murray Collegiate in Saskatoon Jan. 14 and brought home a few medals.

Card tournament enjoyed

Julia Borzel stopped by to visit Marilyn Smith on her way back from St. Walburg, where she visited her mom. Sunday, Ted Kennedy of Lloydminster visited with his mom, Theresa Kennedy.

Bingo was played at Maidstone Drop In Centre Jan. 5 with very few attending due to another seniors' event being held at the same time. Margaret MacEachern did the calling as we played only half as many games as usual.
