Bingo was played at Maidstone Drop In Centre Jan. 5 with very few attending due to another seniors' event being held at the same time. Margaret MacEachern did the calling as we played only half as many games as usual. A bountiful lunch was provided by Dorothy Harmel.
A special member, Bev Stewart, is in hospital. We miss her at bingo. She always has a joke or anecdote about her grandchildren to share, providing a good laugh for everyone. Speedy recovery, Bev. We miss you!
Whist was played Jan. 12 with Hettie Richardson, assisted by Jean Hartman, hosting and providing lunch. High score went to Eva Inkster and low to Milt McMillan.
Jan. 19 the centre had a chili on a bun luncheon. Thank you goes to all 30 who attended and all who donated food for the meal. Some stayed for bingo which followed at 2 p.m.
A number of the seniors enjoyed the cribbage and kaiser tournament at the Legion Hall Jan. 22.
Cribbage was played Jan. 24, with a nice turnout. Hosting and providing lunch was Dorothy Schwartz, assisted by Jean Hartman. High score went to Lil McMillan and low to Mary Lundell.
