SASKATOON, Sask. — A Saskatoon teacher who helped a 15-year-old student after she was lit on fire by a classmate last week has been released from hospital.

Keilia Windigo, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene on Aug. 18.

Officers were able to obtain a suspect description and, shortly after, managed to find and arrest the suspect.

One member of the RCMP's Emergency Response Team discharged a single round from a service firearm, striking the man.

Police determined the firearm used in the robbery was an imitation firearm.

Police are attempting to identify the deceased female in this collision.

Officers discovered a 17-year-old male youth was suffering from injuries consistent with a stabbing.

A youth from Â鶹ÊÓƵend has been arrested, and a warrant has been requested for another individual following the assault.

After searching the suspect's vehicle, police found a CO2 firearm, along with a can of bear spray, and open alcohol.
