ESTEVAN – The Estevan Police Service (EPS) conducted curfew and release condition checks, responded to disputes, noise complaints, and investigated various incidents over the weekend.
A 43-year-old Estevan man was arrested on Feb. 23 for breaching his release conditions related to having no contact with a specific individual. He was lodged in cells and was set to be released Monday morning. He is scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court in April.
Police conducted a curfew check at the request of electronic monitoring (EM). A woman was found at home, but her monitoring system was no longer charging. The probation officer and EM staff were updated.
EPS members are investigating a dispute between neighbours. Video surveillance is being reviewed, and charges are pending.
Officers responded to a second EM request when a different individual's tracking device triggered an alarm. The individual was located at home.
On Feb. 22, police responded to a report of a vehicle parked on the lawn at the leisure centre. Officers attended the scene and were issuing a parking ticket when the driver identified themselves. They were warned and moved their vehicle.
Police are investigating reports of a theft from a residence, a stolen scooter, and Facebook fraud. In the fraud case, an individual sent an e-transfer for a purchase but lost contact with the seller.
EPS also received a report of individuals at an abandoned property managed by the city. Officers found a woman inside and asked her to leave.
A man reported a lost or stolen wallet and jacket after socializing the previous night. The matter is under investigation.
Officers attended two separate noise complaints at the same apartment building. One involved individuals yelling in one suite, while another involved loud music. Police warned both parties about the bylaw.
Police are also investigating prank calls received by two separate taxi companies. Officers have identified the phone number responsible.
Additionally, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person prowling near a residence in the Westview area. The matter remains under investigation.
