Students, staff and visitors rose to the challenge of celebrating education week in Preeceville and Sturgis.

Crossroads Credit Union gives back to deserving local community they serve.

The U15 Parkland Prairie Ice, based out of Canora, bounced back from an early two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 tie against the visiting Canalta Borderland Badgers at the Canora Civic Centre on Oct. 22.

"We must take time to reflect on the past and show homage to all military veterans, past and present," said Legion chair Bill Lesko.

After a 20-year absence, the senior Preeceville Pats hockey team return to the ice.

There are only four teams this year with only 39 hockey players registered.

In general, the Preeceville Panthers players worked harder, practiced harder and overcame personal issues to become better individuals in school and in the world, their coach said.

Many cultures were represented at Preeceville's culture day.

Canora/Sturgis RCMP also dealt with a highway truck fire, a leaf dumping dispute, an assault, and an attempted liquor theft.

Wilson said the Canora-Pelly constituency is more than just a region on a map, 鈥淚t's a source of inspiration. It's what drove me to seek the nomination."
