The CPKC Holiday Train is set to roll through southeast Saskatchewan on Sunday, with stops in North Portal, Estevan and Weyburn.

The Grade 2 class at St. Michael School showed off their animal posters for science class on Friday, bringing in their Grade 7 reading buddies to have a look, along with Fr. Valentine Amobi, who stopped by to see the posters. The class spent about a month working on them, and did presentations to their class before inviting other classes to come and see them.

Crocus 80 Theatre staged a short Christmas story, 'The GIft of the Magi', for three performances, on Friday and Saturday, at the Tommy Douglas Centre.

The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, were very active and bright in Saskatchewan skies on Wednesday evening, visible from the Weyburn area as solar storms lit up the atmosphere.

Inclusion Weyburn recognized the City and the Family Place for their role in ensuring all children had the ability to take part in summer programs.

The Gift of the Magi is a Holiday Play written by local playwright Wendy Lee Sidloski. She was inspired by the writer O. Henry.

A number of holiday productions are being planned for Weyburn鈥檚 schools in the last couple of weeks before the Christmas break begins on Dec. 22.

A program initiated by the Weyburn Rotary Club to provide kits or totes for those in an emergency situation is now being expanded to include items for children.

Weyburn Rotary members were given an update about the parks and leisure services department by Andrew Crowe of the City of Weyburn.

Several wrestling clubs from around the province took part in the Barber Motors Wrestling Tournament on Sunday, held at the WCS Eagle gym.
