The Weyburn Police Service responded to 81 calls for service during the period of Aug. 28 to Sept. 3, resulting in a total of 11 charges.

“The new shelter building will signficially impact the lives of many animals, and the many people who share the love of those animals."

The event will include a presentation with Becky Cassidy, Stakeholder Relations Lead of Women Building Futures.

Glen and Suzanne Stomp of Griffin once again hosted an old-time threshing bee on Sunday at their farm, complete with two hay racks picking up stooks of wheat to be put through an antique threshing machine. A pair of Percheron horses pulled one of the racks. The farm also features a mini-heritage village with displays in buildings, and food was available on site.

Some parts of southwest and south-central Saskatchewan are not affected.

The City of Weyburn celebrated its 110th anniversary with a community barbecue at Memorial Park, outside City Hall, on September 1.
