WHITE CITY — Brenda Abday took a quick break at work to check some lottery tickets and was shocked to discover her LOTTO MAX ticket for the Dec. 7 draw won $236,408!
“I was checking a couple tickets at work,” she said. “I couldn’t believe that I won so much money!”
“I probably checked the ticket 20 times or more,” she continued. “I didn’t have much concentration for work after that.”
The winner said she has one big plan for her windfall. It’s one that she’s had in motion for a while now.
“I’m close to retiring,” she said. “Or at least, I was close to retirement. My brain is trying to figure this out… I don’t have to wait to retire now!”
“I’m going to retire early!” she laughed.
Abday purchased her winning ticket at the Cornwall Centre Lottery Kiosk 2102-11 Ave. in Regina. She won her prize by matching six of the seven main draw numbers and the bonus number on the Dec. 7 draw.
