WEYBURN — A recent Thursday turned into a day unlike any other for Evan Colborn.

The Weyburn local got up, prepared for work, checked his LOTTO 6/49 and EXTRA ticket for the Dec. 1 draw and won $100,000. Then he left for work.

“I checked my ticket on the Lotto Spot app,” he said while claiming his prize in Regina. “I was shocked. Completely shocked!”

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” he continued. “So I went on with my regular routine.”

Colborn purchased his winning ticket from the 7-11 located at 5 – 1st Ave. NW in Weyburn. He returned to the store after his workday to doublecheck his ticket.

The winner said he hasn’t made any specific plans for his windfall yet.

“I don’t have any big plans,” he said. “I’ll pay some bills and then put the rest into savings for a little while.”

Colborn won his prize by matching the last six digits of the EXTRA number drawn on Dec. 1 - 3836816.

Sask Lotteries is the main fundraiser for more than 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups in communities across Saskatchewan.
