Bud Phenix is a man of few words - except when it comes to chronicling cowboy life and prairie history in his poetry. 鈥淚 was born near Saskairie and I cowboyed for about 25 years,鈥 says the 78-year-old Carlyle resident. 鈥淢ostly in Saskatchewan.

I鈥檒l the first to admit that it鈥檚 not always easy to feel compassion for some folks in some situations but having said that, I鈥檓 not proud of that kind of exclusivity when it crops up in my mind and heart.

Carlyle Town Council met Wednesday, Jan. 17 at the Carlyle Civic Centre for their regular bi-weekly meeting. Council's next meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the Civic Centre.
