December is here and holidays are just around the corner. The last day of school is Tuesday, December 21. Students return to school on Thursday, January 6, 2011, which is a Day 6 in the cycle. The annual Mosaic Meal will be on Tuesday, December 21.

6 & under Cougars sweep first tournament

This past Saturday the 6 & under Cougars were at the Carnduff tournament where they won both their games. Colby Kyle achieved his first ever goal, and Drayden Arndt did a great job in net. It was the first tournament for many of the youngsters.

Beetlejuice was my favourite cartoon when I was a little girl. I loved the creepy, crude, rude Beetlejuice, and I thought Lydia was the coolest girl in the world.

Last week I attended our granddaughter's annual choir concert. Though jazz never has been my favourite musical style, the harmonies and instrumentations that came from the hands and mouths of those teens were jaw-dropping.

The annual RCMP 'Breakfast with Santa' took place over the Dickens weekend, raising much needed funds and foods for the Carlyle food bank. Organized and run by members of the Carlyle RCMP Detachment, the morning event took place between 8 a.m.

Christmas list

This year, as she has since the Dawn of Time, my wife said to me, "So, what do you want for Christmas?" And, as I have since the Dawn of Time, I said the same thing: "Figure it out." I don't do Christmas Lists.
