Saskatchewan鈥檚 NDP Party has bumped up its leadership convention to March 3. Now, the pressure is on candidates to intensify their campaigning.

Saskatchewan Party leadership candidate Alanna Koch stopped in Mossbank and Assiniboia to meet agricultural producers and community members on September 13. Koch also dropped into the Assiniboia Times office for an interview on a range of topics.

A total of 3,330 head of cattle were sold in Saskatchewan the week ending September 1. This number is down from 4,132 head sold the previous reporting week, and down from 3,793 head the same week a year ago, Saskatchewan Agriculture reported.

The Assiniboia and District Arts Council opens its 2017-2018 Stars for Saskatchewan concert series on Friday, September 29 with 鈥淥h, Canada, We Sing for Thee!鈥� The concert features acclaimed Canadian songstress Leisa Way and it starts at 7:30 p.m.

Assiniboia held its second annual community registration night on September 7 at the Prince of Wales Auditorium. Over 20 local groups and organizations set up tables with displays and information.

The St. Louis Catholic Church in Mossbank celebrated its 100th anniversary on Sunday, August 27 with a Mass and celebration. The Mass was held at the cemetery among the shade of the trees on this hot day.
