It was a prominent national news story for more than a week. A truck convoy making its way to Ottawa protesting mandatory vaccine mandate for truckers spawned a number of similar scenarios in communities across Canada, one even arriving at Regina Legislature on Jan. 29, the day after the Ottawa group arrived.

Unity had such an event organized which was advertised on social media with no name or contact information, only “from a friend.” Dozens of rigs and personal vehicles lined up along the Highway 14 service road, accompanied by a few pieces of farm machinery. Canadian flags flew, signs adorned the vehicles in the procession and lots of honking horns were heard.

The procession drove down the road past the hospital, turning to drive east on 1st Avenue  (often referred to as Railway Avenue), and then proceeded north on Highway 21. It was also reported that the same group drove to Wilkie, cruised around that community, and returned home on Highway 14.
