Tough start for Miners and Tigers in SWHL, Mohawks and Outlaws playing at .500

The Sask. West Hockey League eight-team league includes Kerrobert, Macklin, Unity and Wilkie senior men's teams.

UNITY, WILKIE, MACKLIN, KERROBERT — The Sask. West Hockey league eight-team league began their season the last weekend in October. Teams have seen varying results, with action set to spill into weekly weekend games for the regular season.

The Unity Miners are sitting without a win in the first three games of the season, last losing to Kindersley Nov. 12 on the road. The Miners are aiming for some rebounding in the Nov. 18 weekend action.

The Kerrobert Tigers have played only one game, hosting the Wilkie Outlaws on Nov. 11 and losing by a score of 8-5. The Tigers play two games Nov. 18-19 both on the road and at home and are seeking the win column.

Both Macklin Mohawks and Wilkie Outlaws are split with 1-1 records to start their seasons.

The Outlaws lost to Kindersley in their season opener but were able to tame the Tigers Nov. 11. Wilkie plays at home Nov. 19 and again Nov. 26.

The Mohawks lost their season opener to Kindersley but rebounded at home beating Biggar Oct. 30 by a score of 7-4. Next game for the Hawks is Nov. 18 hosting Kerrobert and travelling to Biggar on Nov. 19.
