Weekend checkstop drive

Between Sept. 2 and 7, the North Battleford Regional Traffic Services will be conducting a series of checkstops and roving patrols. The checkstops will take place in the Battleford, Spiritwood, Meadow Lake, Cut Knife and Onion Lake areas.

Drowning being investigated

Spiritwood RCMP say they are investigating what appears to be a possible drowning of a woman in Chitek Lake. Chitek Lake is located about 60 km north of Spiritwood. Spiritwood RCMP were sent to the area at around noon Sunday, joined by EMS.

Eleven-year-old hit by vehicle at Bridgefest

An 11-year-old boy was sent to hospital after being hit by a vehicle at BridgeFest on the weekend. The incident happened at around 3:45 p.m. at the Flats in Battleford Saturday.
