Battlefords Jazz Society is kicking off a new season Nov. 6 with a cabaret featuring Kamila Martel and the Ne'erDoWells. The group is described as a Saskatchewan original. It is a pop, gypsy, blues and roots rock band with an innovative sound.

Thursday Oct. 14 was spirit day at Maidstone High School. The theme was "tight and bright." Students looked forward to this day with excitement and wore lots of bright neon clothing such as tight leggings, headbands and jewelry.

Ballet glides into N.B.

With support from the Saskatchewan Arts Board's Culture on the Go pilot program, the White Birch Ballet Company is performing in North Battleford at Chapel Gallery Saturday, Nov. 27 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Thirty-four quilters and soon to be quilters met in the craft room at Don Ross Centre at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 for a business meeting of the Rivers' Edge Quilt Guild. It was nice to welcome new members as well as meet quilting friends not seen since June.
