The Northwest is the land of opportunity

For this month's News Watch column I thought I would try to do something a little more upbeat. Among the good news stories being touted by local officials has been the strength of the overall economy.

Bouquets and many thanks to Lisa Hornung and the community youth choir for the enjoyment you provide us all. The time, and talent of the children, their parents, Lisa, Jacque and Gary are certainly appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Car fire causes $30,000 damage

A vehicle fire Thursday has caused an estimated $30,000 damage, according to fire officials. The fire happened about 8:35 a.m. on the 2000 block of 100th Street. The engine of a small passenger vehicle was fully involved in fire.
