After a 4-0 start to the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League season, Maymont has lost two straight, both in lopsided games. Dec. 23, the Settlers were in Battleford to play the Beaver Blues and Maymont lost 12-2.

A collision north of Cando has resulted in three people being sent to Battlefords Union Hospital. According to a WPD Ambulance news release, the collision happened on Highway 4 around 1:30 p.m. Dec. 29.
