Members of the Preeceville Walking Club have been walking for the betterment of their physical and mental health, beginning on November 2. The group plans to conclude its season at the end of March.

鈥淲alking is one of the best exercises for all age groups and it is free,鈥� said Eugene Boychuk, one of the organizers of the Sturgis indoor walking program. The Sturgis indoor walking program kicked off for another season on November 3.

The Preeceville and District Mushers Rendezvous committee has been busy with organizational meetings for the annual Rendezvous being held on February 3, 4 and 5.

Tim Atchinson of Lintlaw recently took over ownership of the business which had previously been known as the Chuckwagon Diner. Atchy's Family Diner opened for business on November 8.

Richardson Pioneer said it was pleased to support the Preeceville Arena with a gift of $75,000 to help replace the roof and upgrade the aging facility. The Arena will be renamed Richardson Pioneer Skating Arena.

Curling season kicked off at the Preeceville Curling Rink with 12 teams registered in the four-on-four curling and 24 registered in the two-on-two curling. The season began November 8.
