The curling season concluded in Sturgis with the Matt's and Home Hardware bonspiel from March 7 to 13. There were a total of 17 teams entered with the Brian Peterson rink taking first place.

The Endeavour Figure Skating Club presented Superhero in its annual ice carnival held at the Endeavour skating arena on March 4. Skaters showcased all their hard work and dedication in a one-night performance.

A century has past with many changes in the world from technology to individual changes. Ivy Peterson (Bannister) persevered through the changes and hard times as she celebrated her 100 th birthday surrounded by many family and friends on March 5.

The Preeceville Midget Pats are scheduled to conclude their season at home against Esterhazy. In the best-of-three games series for the B banner, they are all tied up. The last and deciding game will be on March 20.

The Canora-Pelly constituency office opened last week at 105 Main Street (former bingo hall) in Canora and promises to be a busy place leading up to the province鈥檚 28 th general election on April 4.

The St.Partick's Roman Catholic Church in Sturgis carried on the tradition of celebrating St. Patrick's day with a pie social and a fun card party on March 12.

The Assiniboine Beef and Multi 4-H club hosted a public speaking competition that encouraged club members to gain confidence and the experience of speaking in front of a audience. The newly-formed club has 16 members aged from six to 11 years old.

Students from the Preeceville and Sturgis Schools were treated to a presentation from Dan Clark, a Saskatchewan Roughrider, in Preeceville on February 25. He spoke about bullying, including personal experiences of being bullied when he was younger.
