Morgan Frank is originally from Humboldt, where she grew up and graduated from Grade 12 in 2017. She skated with the Humboldt Club from 2005 until 2017, and helped coached from 2015-2017 in the Can Skate program and Junior Star program. She took a few years off from skating to attain a nursing degree from the University of Regina, where she graduated in 2022. Metherell attained a nursing degree at the University of Saskatchewan in 2021.

“I have always loved to skate and I have a passion to share my knowledge with younger skaters,” said Metherell. “It is important that younger skaters get used to the ice and not be afraid of it. My focus goal would be that each child get comfortable and learn some basics of skating, and having fun while doing it,” she said.

The Preeceville Figure Skating Club held its first meeting in 1957 with membership fees of $1 per child and there were 12 skaters registered, stated the Preeceville history book. Later on the club disbanded in 1958 and reorganized in 1967.There were an average of 50-60 skaters registered each year in past years. Every year the club performed at the Preeceville Lions Winter Carnival. Beryl Britton was the first recorded instructor.
