PREECEVILLE - The Preeceville Panthers faced off against the Carrot River Wildcats in their first home game of the season on Sept. 8.
It was the first game of the season for Preeceville and ended in a heartbreaking 53-0 loss.
"Despite the loss we need to move forward and focus on our next game where we will be traveling to Cumberland House on Sept. 22 and our next home game will held Sept. 29 at home in Preeceville,” said Jeremy Mattison, coach.
“After the first loss we suffered we rebounded and worked on a lot of technical skills. We still had a small bench but that is improving with a few more players coming out to play. The team played hard and were focused on plays and applying the skills that we had worked on in practices. We did have a few injuries and were missing two key players. We will be better prepared for out next game. We have a very young team and our young guys got a lot of playing time, learned a lot and by the halftime they we were getting better at listening and working as a team. The sport of football is a total team effort,” said Mattison.
