Byelection results in three new councillors for Preeceville

Town of Preeceville residents vote in three new faces to represent them on council.

PREECEVILLE - The Town of Preeceville held a byelection to choose three new councillors on Sept. 6 with Taylor Sliva, Meaghan Nelson and  Kenton Hull all elected to council.

The new councillors took their oath to office on Sept. 8 at the Town of Preeceville Administrative Building with Lorelei Karcha, administrator, overseeing the oaths. The byelection was required when three long-time councillors resigned.

Lorelei Karcha was the Returning Officer, Tammy Descalchuk was the Deputy Returning Officer and Elaine Simpson was appointed as Poll Clerk.

Taylor Sliva received 174 votes, Meaghan Nelson received 162 and Kenton Hull received 147 votes. Other candidates were, Colin Pasiechnik (68), Donna Olson (61) and Brian MacDonald (28).

There were 230 ballets cast with zero rejected ballets, zero ballets counted but objected to and zero ballets that were spoiled, according to Lorelei Karcha, Town of Preeceville administrator.
