A Kamsack district resident has been selected by the Saskatchewan Hockey Association (SHA) to be a member of the 2017 female U18 Team Saskatchewan final roster.

As the Broda Sportsplex in Kamsack opened for the winter season on the weekend, Kev Sumner, recreation director, looked forward to a couple of events being held this fall and is attempting to address a situation involving dogs at the sportsgrounds.

A quilt made by volunteers from the Victoria鈥檚 Quilts Canada (VQC) organization was presented to a Kamsack cancer patient on September 20 by the Kamsack Cancer Self Help Group.

As principal of Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre, Richard Fiddler points to three programs being undertaken this year as indicators that the school is broadening its reach as a centre for learning.

As the Kamsack fire chief is to retire at the end of the month, town council has decided to create a new position: that of a paid fire chief who will also be responsible as the EMO co-ordinator and bylaw enforcement officer.

A ribbon was cut last week to mark the grand opening of Parkland College鈥檚 new Kamsack Training Centre. Over the summer, the College had moved from its former location at Crowstand Centre to the Kamsack Shopping Plaza on First Street.

The Saskatchewan Hockey Association (SHA) in partnership with the University of Regina Cougars Women鈥檚 Hockey Team held the Eighth Annual Mandi Schwartz Challenge September 21 to 24 at the Cooperators Centre in Regina.

Aformer Top Chef Canada finalist, who has traveled to several Indigenous聽communities across Canada to try and learn how food was prepared before Europeans stepped foot on the continent, was at Keeseekoose Chiefs Education Centre last week.
