Staff at the Family Resource Centre is encouraging families with newborns to take advantage of a new program being offered which is said to help reduce cases of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome.

A huge street party that included a dance, music, food and a beer garden was held in Norquay on August 26 in celebration of RB鈥檚 Place鈥檚 one-year grand opening.

AnnaLee Parnetta, the founder of the Sadok Ukrainian Dance School, has returned to the school as its instructor for the 2017-2018 dance year. Parnetta began Sadok in 2004 after noticing a need for dance in the community, said information from Sadok.

A former Kamsack recreation director has won a Golden Duck trophy to place beside the one he won in 2013.

The Norquay Horticultural Society hosted its 50th annual horticulture show on August 16 when 16 members entered 153 exhibits.

Kamsack Mayor Nancy Brunt was among mayors and deputy mayors from 44 Saskatchewan municipalities who attended a mayors鈥� summer school on the University of Regina campus August 20 to 22.

A total of 56 area residents were tested for HIV infection during another clinic held at the New Beginnings outreach centre in Kamsack on August 23.

The first steps towards the forming of a business association in Kamsack, after many years without such an organization in the community, were made last week.
