KAMSACK - The Town of Kamsack is undergoing zoning bylaw amendments to adapt to changing community demands. Administrator Barry Hvidston shed light on the adjustments during a recent interview with the Kamsack Times.
Key changes include permitting retail sales in industrial areas and accommodating a veterinary clinic in residential zones.
Hvidston highlighted the need for flexibility, stating, “We've had a business in the industrial area that would like to sell cannabis out of their store. According to the bylaws, we can have a processing plant in the industrial area, but we cannot have a retail store. So I think that was an oversight on that side of the bylaw. So we're in the process of changing the bylaws for that. We're also doing the first reading Veterinary Clinic in a residential area so that everything is just a level playing field.”
