The U15 Highway 9 Predators, including a number of players from Canora, showed plenty of character in winning the Canora tournament, held Nov. 2 and 3.

Invermay School athletes produced many notable achievements in cross-country, volleyball, and also the Punt, Pass & Kick Competition.

On Nov. 6, voters had the opportunity to hear the thoughts of candidates for the six town of Canora council positions in the Nov. 13 municipal election regarding issues on their minds.

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a disturbance in the RM of Preeceville. Police attended the scene and learned a woman tried to stab a man with a pair of scissors.

The first service on Nov. 11 begins at 10:45 a.m. at the Cenotaph in front of the Canora town office. At 11:30 a.m. an ecumenical spiritual service for all people begins at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.

The host Cobras recorded a split during the weekend tournament on Oct. 26 and 27, defeating Indian Head and Park Posse, with losses to Yorkton and Radville.

Coach Hannah Maurer was justifiably proud of the efforts of her Canora Composite School Cougars senior girls volleyball team members after finishing second at their home tournament on Oct. 26.

The big announcement was made in Canora by Hockey Saskatchewan General Manager Kelly McClintock, who has been with Hockey Sask. for over 30 years.

Canora/Sturgis were dispatched to multiple calls for a disturbance in Canora.  Police attended the scene and learned there was a dispute over money owed for a cat.
