It didn’t take long for the Teddy Bears to get tossed in Regina

Early goal by Jake Egland sent the furry bears flying out of their seats at the Regina Pats’ Teddy Bear Toss game.

REGINA - It did not take long for the Teddy Bears to go flying out of their Brandt Centre seats.

The Regina Pats scored just 2:25 into the first period of play against the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Teddy Bear Toss game, prompting fans to throw hundreds of furry stuffed animals onto the ice surface.

It was number 24 Jace Egland who scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal in the first period to put Regina ahead 1-0. Zachary Lansard and Anthony Wilson got the assists.

The game was halted for several minutes as a lengthy cleanup ensued on the ice to collect all of the stuffies.

The Teddy Bear Toss proved to be another successful one in terms of donations this year. The Pats announced following the first period they collected a total of 3,043 stuffed animals in this year's Toss. The stuffed animals will now be donated to the Salvation Army and other charities to be distributed to those in need this holiday season.
