City council has a fine line to walk as they set the final budget for 2023 by the Dec. 12 council meeting, says editor Greg Nikkel.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School put on their fowl supper for the first time since 2019, with parents, staff and students volunteering to make sure the supper went smoothly, including providing entertainment with choirs and bands throughout the evening.

The pride of Cape Breton Island, the Barra MacNeils, brought their national tour of their Christmas show to Weyburn on Monday, with a two-and-a-half hour performance on the Cugnet Centre stage. The show was a part of the Weyburn Concert Series, and featured a variety of music, from the rollicking "Christmas in Killarney" to the soaring vocals of "Ave Maria" and "O Holy Night", plus lots of stories about growing up and enjoying Christmas in Cape Breton.

The Weyburn Police Service responded to 86 calls for service during the period of Nov. 21 to 27, resulting in a total of 17 charges.

Weyburn city council also voted unanimously not to allow backyard chickens in the city.

The Carol Festival will be hosted by the Weyburn Rotary Club on Sunday, Dec. 4, at Grace United Church, with two performances.

The Weyburn U18 Aaron Well Servicing 麻豆视频east Goldwings brought home the gold medal from the Wickfest tournament.

The Weyburn U18 Barber Motors Wings hosted the Estevan Bears on Saturday evening at Crescent Point Place, and were doubled by a score of 6-3. The teams started out fairly evenly, ending the first period tied 1-1.
