All they needed was a chance

I was feeling kind of down the other day as I witnessed those around me taking exciting trips and travelling the world.

At long last it has returned. No, not the CFL season, we're talking about the return of the Golden Garbage Can competition. Admit it, you have Can fever. OK, so maybe you don't.

Although I am not nearly as versed in the art of the rant and observation as my friend Norm, I will do my best to pinch hit for him while he enjoys a week off.

I love going to the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay For Life, it is such an inspiration. Unfortunately, there are those who do not share my sentiment and attempted to make things difficult for the many volunteers and participants of the event.

Rider Pride is infectious and compelling. The residents of Saskatchewan and elsewhere in Canada and around the globe can have fun with it. It's not political or religious although it can border on the latter on occasion.

Can someone please deliver me from these crazies who believe that the current alternate energy ideas and projects will provide us with never ending solutions to global warming and all the power generating ills that beset us.

Oh, the memory flashes can play nasty tricks on a feeble brain such as the one that I have laid claim to over these past many years. I'm stuck with it. There are no brain transplants in the near future.

It is heartening to see some rallying around the Roche Percee revival plan. It may be a modest one, but from small seeds, tall trees can sometimes grow.
