Sixty-four golfers participated in the Early Safety Training (EST) program's annual golf tournament June 27 at the Weyburn Golf Club. The event raised $8,900 for the program's bursary fund.

This year's Maxi Twilight Baseball Tournament was a huge success and received nothing but positive feedback from the community. It began back in 1976, and only 16 teams were allowed to enter, forcing others to create their own tournament.

The Weyburn Beavers continued their push for a Western Major Baseball League playoff birth with a pair of wins over divisional opponents.Weyburn shelled the Melville Millionaires 10-2 on July 12 at Tom Laing Field.

Silver Seals compete at two meets

Members of the Weyburn Silver Seals swim club travelled to Estevan on July 10 and Oxbow on July 11 to take part in a pair of meets. Two swimmers won overall silver medals in Estevan, and one swimmer claimed a bronze.
