WEYBURN – The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Gold Wings held their season home opening weekend, hosting back-to-back games against the Swift Current Wildcats at Crescent Point Place.
The Gold Wings dropped their home opener on Saturday night by a score of 3-1, and then went scoreless in a 4-0 loss on Sunday afternoon.
In Saturday’s game, the Gold Wings’ sole goal came from Hadley Revenko at 11:47 of the third period, assisted by Paisley Arntsen and Randell Banga.
The Gold Wings had many good close chances on net, but weren’t able to find the back of the net until Revenko’s goal in the third.
Hailey Sibbald was in net for the full 60 minutes, and made 29 saves on 32 shots.
On Sunday, Amy Swayze was in net for the full game, and she made 25 saves on 29 shots.
The next home games for the Gold Wings will be back-to-back games vs Prince Albert on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m., both at Crescent Point Place.
