WEYBURN - Jayden Baker, a graduating player from the Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings, was recently announced as the recipient of the 2022 Esso Cup Scholarship.
The nonprofit Esso Cup Scholarship board held their annual meeting on June 20, awarding the 2021-22 Esso Cup $1,000 award to Baker.
She played four years (2018-2022) for the Gold Wings, skating in 97 games. According to a news release from the Esso Cup Scholarship board, Baker joined the Gold Wings from her hometown of Regina, bringing a great work ethic and always giving 100 per cent while making hockey fun.
Baker was a leader on the team and in the community. In the summer months she was very active in the Regina Softball League competing at the national level.
Baker will begin her studies in Psychology at the University of Jamestown in the fall of 2022.
