After an extremely successful club season, the Rebels went into the Provincial Championships ranked #2 in the province. They were placed in the 鈥淧ower Pool,鈥� which consists of the top 10 teams in the province. These teams were the only ones eligible to win the Provincial Championship in Division One. These teams聽 were: Saskatoon Huskies Green; Red Coat Rebels; Regina Cougars; Saskatoon JCVC Inferno, Prince Albert Toppers; Regina QCVC; Battleford Fusion; Saskatoon Huskies White; Lloydminster; 麻豆视频 Shore Stingers.

After the first day of round robin play on Saturday, the Rebels were 3-1 on the day, losing to Regina QCVC. Finishing second in their pool after Saturdays competition. This meant the Rebels had to win every match on Sunday.

The Rebels first match Sunday was against Prince Albert Toppers, a team we have split with during the club season. We knew it would be a battle and it was, with the Rebels winning in 3 sets.

Then with no break, the Rebels had to face the Saskatoon Huskies, the #1 team and undefeated after day 1 of the Provincials. The Rebels were the underdogs for sure, but this group will not back down from anyone.

The pressure was intense, but the team had worked hard all season on fundamental techniques,聽 mental toughness and pressure training. Their training came through.

The Rebels beat the Huskies in 3 very intense sets. At one point in the third set the Rebels were down 14-11 with the Huskies serving for the win. The Rebels stayed with our game plan and came back to beat the Huskies 18-16 to advance to the Gold medal match against Regina QCVC.

Because the final was being televised and there were time constraints, The Rebels had to get on the court with no rest for the Gold medal match. The Gold medal match went to another intense 3 sets with the Rebels winning to take Provincial Gold!

We are extremely proud of these young athletes. They are talented, dedicated and extremely hard working.聽 This was not only a victory for the Red Coat Rebels, but it was also a victory
