The Moose Mountain Lions held a fundraising golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 27. Here a total of 106 golfers came out to Golf Kenosee in order to enjoy camaraderie and a day of golfing.
Set up as a four-person Texas Scramble those out for the day enjoyed themselves immensely despite the weather changes throughout the day.
President of the Moose Mountain Lions, Dave Balfour, explained the event was a success with an estimated $10,000 raised.
The day began with registration followed by a shotgun start at noon. Once golfing finished a meal was provided and the band "Taming Susan" entertained the crowd.
"The band was very good, supper was good, and the support of the community was good," Balfour said.
"We had probably more than 40 different sponsors for the event, which was great."
Currently Balfour says the Moose Mountain Lions are working towards various smaller projects, but have one long term large project in mind.
"We have a few projects kind of up in the air right now, but the fire hall in the village is one of the projects on our radar for the long-term," Balfour stated.
Overall the Lions were pleased with the turn-out and happy with the support shown by the community and surrounding area in their fundraising efforts.
