Several members of the Moose Mountain Elks Lodge in Kisbey were in Esterhazy from March 8-10 for the provincial Elks darts tournament.
In the men’s singles event, John Voutour of Kisbey took second spot, and Kalvin Nankevill was fourth. A total of five people were entered in the men’s division. Craig Nielsen of Esterhazy finished first.
In the women’s singles, Kathy Nankevill of Kisbey finished fourth. Wendy Demerais of Prince Albert was the champion.
Voutour and Kindersley’s Barry Off teamed up to finish first in the men’s doubles event. Nankevill and Brenda Montour were third in the division.
Kathy Nankevill and Demerais teamed up to finish first in the women’s doubles competition.
The mixed triples winners were Off, Demerais and Eugene Hartter from Wilkie. Â
Voutour, Kathy Nankivell and Calinda Nielsen of Esterhazy were second, and Kalvin Nankivell, Charlotte Hartter and Nielsen were third.
Blind draw doubles were held March 8. Anyone could draw another player as a partner, creating a fun event for the entrants. Various competitions were held March 9 and 10.
All players qualified to compete at the Elks National Darts Tournament in Courtenay, B.C., from May 21-25.
The Elks are the oldest, largest all-Canadian fraternal charitable organization in Canada. In Saskatchewan there are 56 lodges and over 1,200 members.
