The Carlyle Cougars Pee Wee team, led by coaches Lloyd Bendtsen and Brian Hagel, started off the preseason with a home game against the Estevan Bruins on Sunday October 19th. The2014/15 roster includes: Trey Baker, Spencer Bell, Cade Bendtsen, Micheline Biermann, Tyler Colpitts, Degan Galbraith, Kenna Hagel, Coty Hofos, Devin Loustel, Hayden McArthur, Nolan Pelletier, Adrien Riddell, Nate Robertson, William Standingready, Zane Winter, Logan Young, and Brody Yuzicappi.

A good sized crowd was on hand to watch a game that was fast paced from start to finish. Carlyle was able to move the puck well all game allowing multiple players to hit the score sheet. Logan Young was a strong presence in front of the net and was rewarded with the team's first goal of the year at 3:30 of the first period. Tyler Colpitts seemed to be everywhere, scoring the game winning goal at 13:50 of the second period. Insurance markers were also added by Degan Galbraith, Adrien Riddell and Nate Robertson. Special teams were a huge factor as each team found the back of the net on the power play. The Bruins started to turn it up halfway through the game but Carlyle put up a wall with stellar goal tending from Zane Winters through periods one and two combined with a solid defensive effort by Hayden McArthur. Missy Beirman took over for Zane in the 3rd period and made some excellent saves to shut the door on the Bruins in the 5-1 win.

The Cougars next game is scheduled for Saturday, November 1st at 3p.m. where they face off against Carievale on home ice. Come on out and cheer them on!
