The Carlyle Golf Course has reason to be excited for the upcoming year.

In an interview with Terri Fields about her new position as clubhouse manager, some board members present echoed their excitement about this new year. Along with the chic new floors, walls and d茅cor within the clubhouse, new ideas are also in the works.

Christy Jarvis, Bertha Isleifson and Mitch Wilcox all reminisced about the great year in 2020 and are looking forward to working with Fields to offer Carlyle and area another fantastic year.

Moving to the village of Kenosee Lake in 2015 from Radville, Fields has fallen in love with this area of the province and she shared, 鈥淚 love the people. Golfers are the best!鈥

Working at Golf Kenosee last year gave her a taste of the golfing culture.

鈥淏eing outdoors, great views, relaxing and getting some exercise at the same time with friends/family 鈥 that is perfect,鈥 she said.

You will recognize Fields from King鈥檚 Department Store, but she says she will be concentrating on the golf course full-time as soon as the weather permits, returning to the King鈥檚 family of staff when the season is over.

Fields will work closely with the board to develop and promote the events for the season, manage the staff and take care of all clubhouse operations. As in previous years, the tarps will be taken off and the grounds prepared for golfers as soon as possible. The course will offer the same men鈥檚 and ladies鈥 nights as usual and plan for some fun pairs events, youth events and even fundraisers for various organizations.

When asked about golf lessons for new enthusiasts, Fields explained there is no 鈥榞olf pro鈥 on staff but there are many great, seasoned golfers who have taught and trained in the past. If you want to take up the sport, please inquire.

Would your organization like to hold a fundraiser? Contact Fields as soon as possible to book the date and she is ready to help you plan as needed.

Their Early Bird fees are available now until March 15 as follows: Family $1,000, Single $580, Junior $265. If you want to become a member you can contact Christy Jarvis directly at 306-577-7539 or email [email protected] and payment can be made by etransfer or cheque sent to Box 1261, Carlyle.

The annual general meeting this year will be held on March 24 at 7 p.m. for all members or those interested in the Carlyle Golf Course year ahead. Search Carlyle Golf Club on Facebook and follow them for all updates, opening dates and general information
