Weyburn Comprehensive School Grade 10 student, Ethan Melle, is "very happy" that he attended the Info Fair put on by Â鶹ÊÓƵeast Regional College and SIAST on May 17 and 18 in Weyburn. Ethan was the lucky recipient of an Acer laptop computer, compliments of Â鶹ÊÓƵeast Regional College."We wanted to promote the Info Fair and attract as many high school students to the event as possible," said Recruitment and Marketing Coordinator for the College Dave Harazny. "A number of students from the Comp visited the SIAST mobile training lab to gather information on the programs that the College and SIAST will be offering next year. As an added bonus, we decided to give away a laptop, which has become a valuable educational tool for many students."Â鶹ÊÓƵeast Regional College's campuses will be offering a variety of fulltime certificate programs in the 20102011 academic year. While the Electrician (Weyburn & Moosomin) andPower Engineering (Estevan) programs are full, seats still remain in the PreEmployment Welding (Weyburn), Office Education (Weyburn), Continuing Care Aid (Whitewood), Hairstylist (Estevan), and Primary Care Paramedic (Estevan) programs."We are always recruiting students and communicating the benefits of having a college right here in Weyburn and other southeast Saskatchewan communities," added Harazny. "Whether students are in grade 10, 11, or 12 they are thinking about their future and the college obviously wants to be an option for them to consider."
