Both Nickle Lake and Mainprize Regional Parks have planned for activities to celebrate Canada Day, Thursday, July 1.
At Nickle Lake, there will be slow-pitch games all day on July 1 at the three ball diamonds, and the Soo Line Cruisers will take part in a show-and-shine at the park at 10 a.m. To register for the slow-pitch, contact Doyle Larson at 306-861-6524.
There will be classic cars, trucks, motorbikes and tractors for the show-and-shine.
For the children, there are activities on throughout the day at the Beaver Den, and there is free mini-golf all day.
There will be a site decorating contest for the campers with judging to be around 1 p.m., and a bike parade will be held at 10 a.m. around the park.
There will be a beer gardens from noon to 8 p.m. along with a food truck open at noon, and an open air market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Glow golf will start at 9 p.m., and will cost $4 per person or $15 for a family. Limited people allowed in each area to adhere to SHA guidelines, and social distancing is a must. Masks are mandatory in all indoor areas (bathrooms, canteens and walking around beer gardens.)
At Mainprize, there are activities from July 1 to 3 at the regional park, with kids crafts at Pederson Place starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, and a cart parade through the park at 2 p.m.
There will be slow-pitch games on all day, and fireworks will light up the skies around 9 p.m.
The slow-pitch ball will continue on Friday and Saturday, and a glow golf tournament will start at 9 p.m. on Friday.
The highlight on Saturday evening will be a concert by singer Karissa Hoffart, starting at 7 p.m.
Tickets for her show will be limited to 150, according to SHA guideline, and are available online at karissahoffart.com. The tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate, for those who are 13 years and older.
